Swamp Box, Swamp Turpentine This hardy Australian native tree has a fast-growing and weeping habit, dull green foliage and small clusters of creamy-white flowers that appear in spring and summer. This variable height tree is mostly used as a shade tree on farms, paddocks and large properties. It is known as a good source of honey for bees and butterfly attracting. Can provide useful timber. Minor koala food source, but useful for habitat creation for native wildlife. It prefers full sun in moist/wet soil and tropic to sub-tropic conditions but also grows well in areas offering a temperate to warm climate. Will tolerate wet conditions and flooding and salt air in coastal conditions. |
