Red-leafed Dwarf Sugar Gum This native tree is described as the first ever red-foliaged Eucalypt. Foliage colour is deep red maturing to purple and grey tones over time. It produces rich dark red stems that are almost black. Bark is smooth and grey. This tree responds very well to pruning and will thicken up. Can be kept as a shrub if pruned. Makes an attractive feature tree. Foliage can be used in flower arranging. 'Vintage Red' prefers a position in full sun to part shade in sandy loam to well-drained clay soils. Tolerates cold and drought. |
