Tree Ficus platypoda Rock Fig

Description Naturally occurring in rocky outcrops of central and northern Australia, this variety of fig has oval foliage that is thick and very heavily waxed almost like those of a rubber plant. It has a finely-textured grey bark and produces tiny, hard fruits which are about the size of marbles. These fruits start off yellow and change to orange as they ripen. Growing to around 8 metres, this is a good tree for pruning to a formal shape or size.
