Description This is a small tree native to Western Australia. It has smooth, copper-brown to dark red-brown bark and creamy white flowers that appear over the summer months. It has silver-white flower buds - may be where it gets its common name from - and produces gum nuts. Is considered relatively slow-growing.

Uses As a native urban tree, it has an attractive canopy and is small enough to use in moderately sized residential settings. Planted in multiples it is also used for windbreaks and screens.    
Position & Soil This tree is hardy and tolerant to drought and moderate frost. It will grow in a range of soils including alkaline, sandy loam and heavy clays. It is sensitive to waterlogging so good drainage is a must. Salt tolerant.
