Description Azara microphylla is a small evergreen tree from South America with small deep green foliage that grows in a pinnate like form on slightly pendulous branches. Small yellow flowers are borne in spring and bring with it a nice vanilla scent.

Uses It has an upright habit which makes it suited to narrow spaces. Could also be used in a courtyard that does not receive much summer sun. A nice option for hedging.    
Position & Soil Prefers a rich soil, moist soil and a part shade position. In a moist soil and light shade, this is a tree that requires little care and only remedial pruning. Any damaged wood can be pruned back as needed.
