Description This tree has attractive double serrated leaves with five to nine lobes. They are green in colour during spring and then turn a bright yellow with an orange tinge at autumn. The striking bark turns a brighter red in winter providing colour throughout the year.

Uses An elegant tree which is suited to small gardens as a feature tree. Can be grown in containers. Works well in small, protected areas.    
Position & Soil Likes a part shade or afternoon shade position in organic rich soil. Avoid a location that is unprotected from north or west afternoon sun, or hot winds in summer. Does prefer moist, well drained soils. Leaves may become scorched in hot weather.
