Seiryu weeping Japanese Maple This is a small grafted Seiryu weeper at 1.4m. As a standard, this tree offers the same beautifully delicate lacy leaves that turn gold to crimson in autumn as the normal tree form. As a weeper, it makes for an attractive selection for courtyards and small gardens where there is protection from full sun. Its light green new growth provides a striking contrast against older foliage. Like the other Japanese Maples, this tree is suitable for smaller gardens and courtyards with protection from full sun. Works well as a feature tree or in group plantings. Prefers a moist, well drained soil. It should be placed in a protected area of the landscape to protect it from hot summer winds that may scorch the fine leaves. Requires a location that is protected from north or west sun, or hot wind in summer. |
