Wesburn Primary's 'Tree of Knowledge'

As a result of Landscape Victoria's February Trade Night and the generosity of Brian Rankin, Weburn Primary School has a new asset to its school with the potential for long-term benefits.

Landscape Industry stalwart Brian Rankin is a kind and generous man. And as advocates of the benefits of green and in planting more trees for improved physical and mental health, we want to be the first to congratulate his kind community spirit.

As the lucky winner of a door prize at Landscaping Victoria's Trade Night held at Speciality Trees in February, Brian immediately spoke of donating his choice of a 50L tree to the local community.

Here is the result.

This Quercus palustris 'Freefall' Oak tree now has its forever home at Wesburn Primary School in the Yarra Valley. Assured of the best start with local compost and wetting agents to ensure performance, it is well-equipped to provide shade, autumnal colour and immeasurable value to the school community for many generations to come, maybe even inspiration to a few future budding horticulturists.

We hope to keep you posted on its progress.
