Schools National Tree Day 2022

Schools Tree Day offers up a great opportunity to inspire and educate future generations on the many benefits of trees and their connection with nature. This year we donated a number of large native trees to Bentleigh Secondary College for planting in their school.

For Schools National Tree Day on 31st July 2022 we combined forces with Bentleigh Secondary College! 

Impressively, the College has a Sustainability program in place as well as Sustainability Leaders who along with teachers planted a group of natives on their school site in Bentleigh East specifically to line a fenceline with the neighbouring King George Memorial Reserve.

Supplied and planted were a number of  Corymbia maculata (Spotted Gum) Corymbia citriodora (Lemon Scented Gum) and Angophora costata (Smoothbarked Apple Myrtle) - all great Australian natives -  in 40cm containers at 2m+ tall which will grow to the majestic heights of 20m+ giving ample shade to their students.

Speciality Trees is pleased to be undertaking this joint activity with schools as part of National Tree Day and the ongoing education around the value of trees and the benefits they provide to our environment, the community and our personal physical and mental wellbeing.
