Surrounded by 50 of our trees, a preview to Beijing Green called Melbourne Beijing Green preview was launched last night in the heart of Melbourne.

The Old Treasury Building on Spring Street was lit up with artworks portraying the beauty of early settlement Victoria courtesy of images supplied by The State Library of Victoria, The National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne Museum and ACMI. With key events to be held in Beijing and Melbourne across 2014 and 2015, this was just a sneak-peek of what is to come next year.

Beijing Green is a cultural program that seeks to bring people together in a celebration of the great beauty of Earth. Every year, the company in charge of the progrm The Earth Media Group (TEMG) turns Beijing “green” by projecting images of the natural environment onto the city’s many ancient temples. By creating an emotional response, it seeks to bring spectators closer to nature and raise their environmental awareness.

As part of TEMG’s series of “Green World” cultural programs, Beijing Green has partnerships in Melbourne and Rio, allowing it to build friendships and promote cultural exchange between the world’s major cultural capitals.
